I live by these words.
I live by these words.
I’m honored to have had an opportunity to write for one of my favorite magazines (well, its Website) before it closed.
I contribute regularly to AOL’s home decor blog, Shelterpop.com. Read my stories here.

February/March 2011

My column for TheFrisky.com was picked up by CNN.com. “Go ahead, date a single dad.”
I promise I don’t Tweet every boring detail of my life — just a few of them.
My first cookbook, “Casserole Crazy: Hot Stuff for Your Oven,” was published by Penguin in October of 2008.

Read my reviews, like this one:
“The two books are obviously similar in terms of subject matter and there’s a fair amount of overlap — these are casseroles after all — but Farris’ is a lot more fun to read. Her irreverent style and quirky sources and recipes (eat the same jerk chicken casserole as Nine Inch Nails! Bobby Flay’s Throwdown Eggplant Parmesan!) inject a lot of personality into what would otherwise be a pretty stale topic” – The Reader, 9/20/08

Just a few examples:

For two years, I edited Nerve.com’s pop-culture blog, Scanner. Nerve’s search feature won’t allow me to bring up all of the posts I wrote, so here’s my very last one: Scanner Emily, Over and Out.
I’m a (clearly slacking) contributor to the Daily Beast’s BuzzBoard and wrote an essay on the “ultimate recession food.” I bet you can guess what it is.
